The Moral Economy of Mobile Phones
The chapters in this volume, with the exception of Holly Wardlow’s contribution, were originally presented at the 2015 meeting of the American Anthropological Association in Denver. We thank the authors for their effort and patience in making both the original conference session and this volume possible.
An Australian Research Council Discovery Project grant (DP140103773, The Moral and Cultural Economy of Mobile Phones in the Pacific) awarded to the editors provided material support for this volume as an open-access publication. We thank Stewart Firth for considering the volume as part of the ANU Press Pacific Series. Two anonymous reviewers offered constructive feedback on the chapters, and Justine Molony copyedited the chapters with professional care. We are grateful to Katie Taylor and Bernard Prasad for assistance with several images, and to Digicel Group Limited for kind permission to reproduce images in three of the chapters. While Digicel Group has permitted the use of its images and artwork, the views, opinions and research expressed in this volume are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of Digicel Group or any of its affiliates and entities.
