Note that stages described and timeline are for plants grown under the following conditions:

 

Columbia ecotype plants were grown in soil in 16-hour days/eight-hour nights with temperatures of 21C during the day and 21C at night. Lighting was provided with fluorescent bulbs giving an average light intensity of 175 micromoles (µmol) meter–1 second–2. Seeds were cold treated (stratification) for three days at 4 C after imbibition to synchronise germination. Days until each stage are approximate and will vary according to growth conditions and genetic background. Approximate dates given include the three-day stratification.
